Romford has four very different kinds of window
Romford covers a lot of ground and the housing changes sharply from one postcode to the next. What we fit in Gidea Park is not what we fit in a town-centre flat.
Gidea Park and the Romford Garden Suburb
Some of the most distinctive housing in the borough: Edwardian and arts-and-crafts houses built for the 1911 exhibition, with generous windows, deep reveals and large bays. Deep reveals are good news: there is room for a recess fit, and often room for a cassette, which closes the light gap at the top of a blackout blind. Many of these houses have original or period-style windows with substantial beading, so we check the depth carefully before recommending a fit type.
Inter-war semis in Collier Row, Rush Green and Ardleigh Green
Classic 1930s stock: a bay at the front, a squarer window at the back, and reveals that are rarely square by the time you measure top and bottom. Where there is a front bay it counts as several blinds rather than one, which is worth knowing when you compare a per-window price against a whole-house figure. Bays get individual blinds per pane. See the bay window guide.
Harold Hill and post-war estates
Built to standard sizes, but replacement windows over the decades mean the openings no longer match each other. We measure every one. Thermal performance is often the priority here: a thermal-backed fabric makes a noticeable difference on a large single-aspect window in winter.
Town-centre flats and conversions
Shallow reveals, tilt-and-turn openers, and leases that discourage drilling. A face fit or a reverse roll clears the openers, and we talk through fixings against your lease at the measure. On the upper floors with a lot of glass, glare rather than privacy is usually the problem, which points to a sunscreen fabric rather than blackout.
Commercial work in Romford
Romford has a large commercial centre and we fit offices, salons, clinics, restaurants and schools as well as houses. Where the premises are a workplace or a public building, the fabric normally needs to be certified flame-retardant to BS 5867-2:2008, usually Type B. We can supply the certification with the order for your fire risk assessment: details on the commercial roller blinds page.

Out-of-hours fitting
Shops and salons usually want fitting before opening or after closing. We can work around trading hours.
Screen glare in offices
A sunscreen fabric with a 3 to 5% openness factor cuts glare on monitors while keeping the room bright and the view out intact.

Yes, and there is no obligation to order afterwards. We would rather quote accurately than have you measure your own windows and discover the problem when the blinds arrive.
Often, if we can see the fabric. Bring one to the measure or keep the original order paperwork if you have it. If the exact fabric has been discontinued we will show you the closest current equivalents.

It depends entirely on sizes and fabrics, which is why we quote per window rather than by the house. Our cost guide gives the ranges so you can sanity-check a quote before we visit.
Yes, but check with your landlord first. At the measure we will show you where each bracket would go, so you can agree it with them before you order.
