Who we are
HD Blinds measures, supplies and fits made-to-measure roller blinds. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), HD Blinds is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What information we collect
When you ask for a quote or a home measure
Your name, phone number, postcode, and optionally your email address, how many windows you have, which rooms or window types, the type of blind you have in mind and any message you add.
When you ask for free fabric samples
Your name, email address, postal address and postcode, the fabrics you are interested in and any message you add.
When you become a customer
Your address, window measurements, the blinds you order, appointment dates, payment records and any correspondence with us.
When you call or email us
Whatever you choose to tell us, along with your phone number or email address.
When you browse the website
Like most websites, our hosting servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. See our cookie policy for information about cookies.
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to measure how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and whether someone clicks to call us or asks for a quote. Google processes this information on our behalf. We use it only in summary form to improve the website, and we do not use it to identify you. If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics does not set cookies on your device. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings.

We do not use your information for marketing emails unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where needed to provide our service:
- Our website hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores the website and form submissions
- Our email provider, which carries messages between you and us
- Postal or courier services, to send samples you request
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires
These providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and sample requests that do not lead to an order: up to 12 months, then deleted
- Customer and order records: 6 years after the end of the financial year of the order, to meet tax and accounting requirements
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need it
- Ask us to restrict or stop using your information in some circumstances
- Object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests
- Ask for information you gave us to be transferred to you or another organisation

Keeping your information secure
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and we only keep what we need for as long as we need it.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
