Rainham windows, and what they need
Rainham is not one kind of housing, and the blind that suits a 1930s semi off Upminster Road South is not the one that suits a new flat at Beam Park. Three broad groups cover most of what we fit here.
Inter-war semis and terraces
The bulk of the older stock, much of it with a square or splayed front bay. A bay needs three or five blinds sized individually rather than one wide one, because a roller blind runs on a straight tube and cannot follow the angles. On a splayed bay the two returns are often not equal, even where houses look identical from the street. Our bay window guide explains how we handle them.
Post-war and council-built stock
Standardised openings originally, but most have had replacement uPVC windows at some point and the replacements were not standardised. We measure every opening rather than assuming two bedrooms with the same original size still match: they frequently do not by 10 or 15 mm.
New-build flats and riverside developments
Large glazed areas, shallow or non-existent reveals, and tilt-and-turn windows with handles that project into the recess. These usually want a face fit or a reverse roll. If you are in a leasehold flat, check what your lease says about fixings before we visit. Solar gain is the other issue: a south or west-facing new-build gets genuinely hot, and a sunscreen fabric does more for that than a blackout blind.

We see the window before we quote
No measuring it yourself, no guessing from a photo. We take the sizes, and if the blind is wrong because our measurement was wrong, that is on us.
Samples in your own light
We bring fabric samples to the house. A grey that looks right in a showroom often looks cold on a north-facing Rainham front room. You can also order samples by post first.
We come back
A blind that needs re-levelling six months on is a short trip for us. That is the practical difference between a local fitter and an online order.

How it works

- We visit and measure. Free, and we bring samples. About an hour for a typical house.
- You get a written quote. Itemised by window, with fitting included.
- The blinds are made to your sizes. We agree a fitting date with you.
- We fit them and clear up. Child safety devices fitted to BS EN 13120 where a chain is used.

No. Measuring and quoting are free anywhere in RM13, and there is no obligation to order. We are based here, so it is not a call-out we need to recover.

Yes. There is no minimum order. A single bathroom or bedroom blind is a perfectly normal job for us.
