Why we measure for you
Most problems with roller blinds start with the measurements: a blind that catches on the tiles, a gap that lets light round the edges, or a chain that sits behind a handle. When we measure, those decisions are ours to get right, and if a blind we measured does not fit as agreed, it is our job to put it right.
If you would still like a rough size first, our guide to measuring for roller blinds explains recess and exact-fit measuring, and the price estimator gives a guide range.

How it works
1. Book a time
Call us or send the short form. We will arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
2. We measure and advise
We measure each window, check what the blind will fix to, and talk through light, privacy and operation for each room.
3. Choose your fabrics
We bring samples so you can see colours and thickness against your own windows, not on a screen.
4. Written quote
You get a written price for every blind. There is no obligation to go ahead.
5. Made to measure
Once you order, each blind is made to the sizes we took.
6. We fit them
We fit the brackets, hang the blinds, fit child safety devices and check each blind runs smoothly before we leave.
What we check when we measure
- Recess or exact fit. Whether the blind should sit inside the window recess or on the wall or frame outside it.
- Depth and obstructions. Handles, window restrictors, tiles, sills and radiators that a blind or its chain could catch on.
- Fixing surfaces. Plaster, brick, timber, uPVC frames or ceilings, and what fixings each needs.
- Control side and operation. Which side the chain should hang, or whether a cordless or motorised blind suits the room better.
- Light gaps. Where light will get round a blind, which matters most in bedrooms and with blackout fabrics.
- Awkward windows. Bay windows, French and patio doors, skylights and conservatories, which need more planning.
On fitting day
Please make sure we can reach each window, with furniture and ornaments moved clear where possible. Tell us about any cables, pipes or wiring you know of near where the blinds will fix. If a surface is not suitable for fixing, we will explain the options before we drill.
Blinds with chains or cords are fitted with the child safety devices required by BS EN 13120. We show you how each blind works before we leave. Read more about child-safe roller blinds.
